A heat press machine is used to transfer designs to many different which utilizes three basic principles print our graphics on textile. These principles are time, pressure, and temperature. We need to set these aspects to the recommend accurate values before we start printing on our fabric. Make a slight mistake in the settings, and we will end up with an improperly printed textile, or a crooked printing.
Generally, our heat transfer machine comes with directions of use. These guidelines incorporate a chart that gives us full details about the correct time, pressure, and temperature values to use for different fabrics. Additionally, we’ve broken down the suitable temperature and time settings based on various factors:
Material | Temperature/ Degree | Time/ Minute |
Polyester | 270 | 10 |
Multi-Purpose fabrics | 350 | 10-12 |
Cotton and denim | 380 | 15 |
Stretch fabric | 335 | 12-24 |
High quality graphic | 305 | 5 |
T-shirts / Sweaters | 365-370 | 10-12 |
Full color graphic | 350 | 10-12 |
Vintage / Faded look | 350 | 10 |

( Note: Due to the versatility of a heat press machine, and the multiple uses it has, we may find that the item you want to print comes in two different categories. For example, we may want to use a glitter design on a t-shirt. In cases like this, try the lower temperature first, as using too much heat can damage the overall design.)
That’s it for our complete heat press calender temperature guide. The list contains the ideal temperature and timer settings we should use for almost all the fabrics you might encounter when doing heat transfer. If we couple the above information with your device user manual, we will have all the information we need to operate our machine using the correct temperatures.
